  • ABOUT THE TRADESHOW

The annual, two-day trade show connects wholesale store buyers from across the region with over 150 members of the Made in Montana program.

Exhibitors come from all over the state to display and sell their innovative products, artful creations, and tasty treats to buyers who will soon put these products on their store shelves, use in their restaurants, and have available statewide to visitors and Montanans alike.

The public is also able to share in the bounty – on Public Showcase Day (Saturday) – when they can experience firsthand the quality and beauty of unique products made by Montana artists, designers, and manufacturers.

Products include gourmet foods and beverages; fine arts and crafts; unique apparel; accessories; home décor and much more!

The Tradeshow is located annually at the Lewis & Clark County Exhibit Hall, 98 West Custer Avenue, Helena, MT.

    2018 DATES TBD

Friday 9AM-6PM: Wholesale Buyer Day. This day is reserved strictly for wholesale buyers only. Buyers can pre-register for the event by choosing the ‘Buyer Information’ tab.

Saturday 9AM-5PM: Public Showcase Day. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is necessary.

    HISTORY OF THE TRADESHOW

The Tradeshow first began in 1998 - 14 years after the creation of the Made in Montana and Grown in Montana programs - in order to assist the marketing efforts of Montana producers looking to get their products on store shelves.

The Tradeshow was held in Great Falls under the name “Montana Marketplace for Food & Gifts” until 2014, when the Department of Commerce moved the location back to Helena and expanded the show.

Since that time, it has grown exponentially, with 165 exhibitor booths, 500 wholesale buyers, and over 6,800 consumers attending on Public Showcase Day.

The Tradeshow remains located annually in Helena, MT.

  • WHY EXHIBIT?

This is the premier opportunity to reach wholesale buyers interested in authentic Made in Montana products for their stores. In addition, you get to introduce your products to the public to generate future sales.

Friday is set aside for wholesale buyers only and is the true purpose of the event. It provides a one-stop marketplace for Made in Montana food and gift producers to meet and sell their authentic products to store buyers for resale.

This show is not a retail craft show nor is it akin to a Farmer’s Market. Exhibitors are required to adhere to wholesale selling processes, procedures, and traditions. That includes offering a wholesale pricing structure that conforms to the food and gift wholesale industry.

As a bonus, Saturday offers a unique opportunity for exhibitors to sell directly to the public at retail prices (the same price the customer would find in a store). Potential customers can see, sample, and purchase products while at the same time learning where they can be found in stores in their area.

This day is included to help promote recognition of Made in Montana products and to also provide producers and wholesale buyers with great feedback about how the public likes the products.

    EXHIBITOR ELIGIBILITY

To participate you must meet the following requirements:

    • Be a registered member of the Made in Montana program selling pre-packaged, shelf-stable food; gifts; or general merchandise items
    • Agree not to exhibit or promote any non-Made in Montana products at the trade show
    • Willingness and capacity to sell products at wholesale prices
      • First time exhibitors at the show must submit to a jurying process for admission and agree to provide necessary documents proving their readiness for the wholesale process. Experienced wholesalers may ask for an exemption.
    • If sampling food or beverage products, must follow all applicable Health Department rules and provide copies of health permits and labels
    • Agreement to Exhibitor Rules & Regulations

Exhibitor Registration for the 2018 show will begin in late October 2017.
