Wholesale Buyer


  • The annual, two day trade show connects wholesale store buyers from across the region with over 100 members of the Made in Montana program. It is open to qualified store owners and wholesale buyers only.

    Friday, March 11, 9 AM- 6 PM - Exclusive for Wholesale Buyers

    Experience firsthand the quality and beauty of unique products made by Montana artists, designers and manufacturers.  Products include gourmet foods and beverages; fine arts and crafts; unique apparel; accessories; home décor and much more.

    Saturday, March 12, 9 AM - 5 PM - Open to the Public

    The public will be invited to share in the bounty on Saturday during the Product Showcase day. There they can experience the Made in Montana products they will soon find in stores statewide. Admission is free and purchases can be made at retail prices.

    The Tradeshow is located at the Lewis & Clark County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 98 West Custer Avenue, Helena, MT.

    WHY EXHIBIT?

    It is the premier opportunity to reach wholesale buyers interested in authentic Made in Montana products in their stores. In addition, you get to introduce your products to the public in an effort to generate sales.

    Friday, March 11, 2015 - Wholesale Trade Show

    Friday is set aside for wholesale buyers only and is the true purpose of the event. It provides a one-stop marketplace for Made in Montana food and gift producers to meet and sell their authentic products to store buyers for resale.

    This show is not a retail craft show nor is it akin to a Farmer’s Market. Exhibitors are expected to adhere to wholesale selling processes, procedures, and traditions. That includes offering a wholesale pricing structure that conforms to the wholesale industry.

    First time exhibitors at the show are required to undergo a jurying process as part of their application—to make sure they know what is expected and to verify that they are ready. The Made in Montana Program is here to help anyone needing assistance in deciding if selling wholesale is right for them.

    Saturday, March 12, 2015 - Made in Montana Public Showcase

    As a bonus, Saturday offers a unique opportunity for exhibitors to sell directly to the public at retail prices (the same price the customer would find in a store). Potential customers can see, sample, and purchase products while at the same time, learning where they can be found in stores in their area. This day is included to help promote recognition of Made in Montana products and to also provide producers and wholesale buyers with great feedback about how the public likes the products! Wholesale buyers may also attend on Saturday.


    EXHIBITOR ELIGIBILITY

    To participate you must meet the following requirements:

    • Registered member of the Made in Montana program
    • Willingness and capacity to sell products at wholesale prices (First time exhibitors at the show must submit to a jurying process for admission and agree to possible educational mentoring)
    • If sampling food products, must follow all applicable Health Department permits and rules
    • Agree not to exhibit or promote any non-Made in Montana eligible products at the tradeshow

    EXHIBITOR SCHEDULE

    Exhibitor Setup, Thursday, March 10: 8 AM – 8 PM
    Wholesale Buyer Day, Friday, March 11: 9 AM – 6 PM
    Public Showcase Day, Saturday, March 12: 9 AM - 5 PM
    Exhibitor Teardown, Saturday, March 12: 5 PM – 8 PM


    FIRST TIME EXHIBITORS

    First time exhibitors (excludes previous exhibitors at previous Great Falls Made in Montana Marketplace) must submit to a jurying process. This ensures that the applicant is ready, willing, and able to fulfill the special requirements for selling wholesale.

    Complete registration includes the following:

    • Completed, signed and dated Exhibitor Application Agreement
    • Full booth payment
    • Photo, digital images (.jpg format), or drawing OR a typed description of what your exhibitor booth space will look like
    • Photos or digital images (.jpg format) of products OR typed descriptions of products you will sell at the trade show
    • Wholesale price list, typed
    • Retail price list, typed (In lieu of this list the applicant can explain how retail price will differ from the wholesale price)
    • Wholesale Buyer’s Term Card, typed (Example of Terms)
    • Copy of food product labels, if applicable*
    • Copy of Current Montana “Food Manufacturing License, if applicable*
    *Food labels and a Montana Food Manufacturing License are required from an exhibitor bringing or selling food products.

    PREVIOUS EXHIBITORS

    (Includes exhibitors at previous Made in Montana Marketplaces in Great Falls)
    It is assumed that if you have previously exhibited at the Made in Montana Marketplace that you have already fulfilled jury requirements. However, the show management reserves the right to ask for further information if necessary from returning exhibitors.

    Complete registration for previous exhibitors includes the following:

    • Completed, signed and dated Exhibitor Application Agreement
    • Full booth payment
    • Photos or digital images (.jpg format) OR typed description(s) of new product(s) you will sell at the 2016 Made in Montana Tradeshow
    • Copy of any new food product labels*, if applicable
    • Copy of Current Montana “Food Manufacturing License,” if applicable*
    *Food labels and a Montana Food Manufacturing License are required from an exhibitor bringing or selling food products.

    REGISTRATION

    Registration is free but attendance on Wholesale Buyer Day is limited exclusively to wholesale buyers and retailers of appropriate businesses.

    All wholesale/retail buyers must complete a brief registration and answer all qualifying information to gain admittance and make wholesale purchases.

    WIN PRIZES BY REGISTERING EARLY

    If you are from out-of-the area and register before March 1 you’ll have a chance to win a free two-night hotel stay during the show. After that you’ll be entered to win a $50 gas card.

    Not from out-of-town? You’ll be entered to win gift certificates to a local Helena restaurant. We have two to give away. The winner of the hotel stay will be notified by 3/2/16. Other winners must pick up their prizes at the show. You must be present to claim your prize!
